Hello I'm Tovar!

Eventually everything connects - people, ideas, objects. It's all about the quality of those connections.

With 14 years of experience, Tovar started their career in Los Angeles. Where they created interactive experiences and visual designs for brands like Disney, Microsoft, and NBC Universal. In 2012 they had their first taste of start-up success launching the Reading Rainbow App. They then chased their passion for emerging tech and UX to San Francisco. Where they partnered with teams at YouTube and Apple on new product and campaign launches. Soon after Tovar co-led the award-winning creative team at Weber Shandwick SF. After working with some of the Bay Area's top design studios and tech companies, they packed up their bags once again to move to Chicago. In Chicago, they lead a talented and diverse visual design team at Shoprunner. Their notable team successes included the launch of Shoprunner's new brand identity, design system, and marketing collateral. Currently, Tovar is freelancing remotely with companies like Leviathan and SwipeSense.

Whether the deliverable is a digital storytelling experience, digital product, printed piece, or visual design system, they search for human-centered solutions using design thinking best practices.

In addition to professional pursuits, they are passionate about equity in tech, improving access to education, and social justice initiatives. Tovar also co-organizes a monthly LGBTQIA+ meetup in Chicago called Queer Tech Club.
